Site orientation and copyright notice

This site serves two primary purposes:

1 To provide a database of updated information for service providers for whom we provide training.

2 To describe and promote the Project 5 system.

We cannot be held responsible for the misuse of information provided on this website.

There is no substitute for the training provided by skilled and informed facilitators.

Website orientation:

The information presented on this website is is of a pragmatic and functional nature, and has been pitched at those who work directly with behaviour that challenges the service.  Theory and structure is important but only when it supports a practical application.  All the theoretical notes on this site support a practical application.

Every response recommendation made on this website is of necessity a generalisation and always subject to informed assessment.  My comments are rooted in thirty years consistent and intensive work with people who have to address the problems of challenging behaviour on a regular basis.  Be absolutely assured of my sincere and conscientious intent.

As time passes, an increasing number of recommendations will be added to this site in the form of written descriptions, pictures and video clips of response options to challenging behaviour.  These are intended to act as an aide-mémoire for the benefit of those who have trained in our system, not as a tutorial for those who have no experience.
