What is your martial arts
history? |
Judo, Tae kwon do, three
years Shinseido |
| |
What aspects of Shinseido
drew you initially? |
My wife started training
before me and she started to beat me up so |
I thought it must be good,
so I started training and haven't looked |
back since, more
importantly I have always been fascinated with the |
movement and fluidity of
the kata, it has helped me to become |
considerably softer and
calmer in my everyday life as well as my art. |
| |
What about Shinseido holds
your continuing interest? |
Even though we are shown a
relatively short syllabus in Shinseido, there are lots of spiralling avenues
of self-discovery. Every time I train, I always learn something new. |
| |
What do you enjoy most and
least about Shinseido training? |
I find kata very
hard because the movement is not natural to me, but I also enjoy the kata
because the feeling I get when I click with the movement is very up lifting
and positive. |
| |
What is your favourite
kata and why? |
I cant say only one of
them is my favourite, the ones I like are - Chinto, Seisan, Shinzen, Tenshu
and Tenzen. And I touched briefly on Rohai, but it was very difficult
so I have put that on the shelf till I improve with all the others. |
What are your dreams and
aspirations regarding Shinseido training? |
Firstly to achieve Shodan
and then to take my next steps to eventually teaching in my own dojo. |
